Helena Simas, M.A.
Helena Simas is an English language teaching consultant, with extensive experience in curriculum development, materials writing, teacher training, trainer training, and project management. Her work in these areas is mostly inspired by her many years in the ESL/EFL classroom where she has taught learners of all age groups and levels, as well as from many cultural backgrounds. She has lived and worked in Portugal, Egypt, and the U.S. Helena was the team leader and editor of English Health Train, as well as an author.
Lisa Johnson, M.A.
Lisa Johnson has taught ESL/EFL for twenty years in the U.S., Taiwan, and Russia, and is currently an instructor at City College of San Francisco. Based on her experience teaching VESL courses, she co-authored Apply Yourself: English for Job Search Success. She also co-authored and edited the Communication Companions for the Longman English Interactive series and contributed to Talking Business Intermediate: Mastering the Language of Business. Lisa was a main author of English Health Train and contributed to the editing of all materials.

Nancy Mackowsky, M.A., B.S.
Nancy Mackowsky is an ESL instructor at City College of San Francisco. She has taught healthcare-related ESL to healthcare workers, professionals, and consumers in a variety of settings, including vocational training programs and senior centers. Prior to teaching ESL, she was a community and public health nurse for 20 years, serving primarily immigrant and underserved communities. She holds a BA in English, a BS in Nursing, and an MA in English/TESOL. Nancy was the pilot course instructor for EHT in Spring and Summer 2006 and provided critical feedback to the project team on the classroom effectiveness of the materials.
Terri Massin, M.A.
Terri Massin has been in the field of ESL since 1984. Her teaching experience includes general ESL classes, as well as numerous English for Specific Purposes courses in the areas of business, childcare, clerical work, and cross-cultural communication. She has taught at University of California Berkeley Extension, Golden Gate University, San Francisco State University Extension, and at various workplaces. Terri has also developed curriculum for a number of online courses. She was the pilot course instructor for EHT in Fall 2006 and as such, provided critical feedback to the project team on the effectiveness of the materials. Since then, she has enthusiastically continued teaching the curriculum at City College of San Francisco in their credit division.
